Fundraising campaign

My way of saying no

The awareness and fundraising campaign #MyWayOfSayingNo will kick off on October 11, on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child.

Why act now?

For nearly 30 years, GAMS Belgium has been tirelessly working to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and support those affected. But today, our work on the ground is at risk: several of our key funding sources will end in 2025, with no guarantee of renewal.

Without support, this means:

  • Fewer prevention activities in schools, community organisations, and frontline services.

  • Less listening, care, and follow-up for women and families affected.

  • Fewer resources to support the young activists fighting to change things.

That’s why we’re launching this citizen-led fundraising campaign. Every donation is a concrete act to keep our vital work going, support those affected, and protect future generations.

Why #MyWayOfSayingNo?
Because there’s not just one way to say no. There are gestures, words, and actions. This campaign highlights all those who are taking a stand against FGM — each in their own way.

The campaign runs for two weeks. Its goal: to raise awareness, break taboos, and collect funds to support three key areas:

  • Youth Activists: a group of young activists (aged 18–30) from FGM-affected countries.

  • Psychosocial support for those affected.

  • Awareness-raising initiatives to prevent FGM and protect girls at risk.

Your donation makes a difference: it helps us develop essential frontline actions and awareness-raising initiatives. Discover the real impact you can have!
