6 February, International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM

The cut : exploring FGM

GAMS Belgium, Intact and End FGM invite you to the screening of the film “The Cut” by Al Jazeera, on the occasion of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.

“Today, no fewer than 200 million women and girls have undergone some form of female genital mutilation (FGM) worldwide. This practice has harmful health consequences. At the center of this documentary is Fatma Naib, a Swedish journalist. Comin from a practicing community herself, she explores the traditions and controversies inherent in FGM. She travels to Somalia and Kenya and returns to Sweden to confront her own demons.”

The film is in its original language with French subtitles and will be followed by a discussion on the progress in the fight against FGM in Belgium and around the world.

The screening will take place on Wednesday, February 6th, 2018, at Cinéma Adventure
