GAMS Belgium launches 3 new versions of the ACCESS videos aiming to raise awareness on violence against migrant women: in Afar, Malinké and Soussou!

Let’s end the silence on violence against migrant women

The ACCESS project aims to facilitate access to prevention, protection and support for migrant women in Europe who face different types of gender-based violence. In this framework, 4 videos in different languages have been published to raise awareness and facilitate the identification of violence against migrant women.

4 videos available in 12 languages

These videos address the feelings or emotional states that can result from violence:

  • The stress that can be felt by parents in relation to the pressure to perpetuate harmful traditions such as FGM or forced marriage
  • Fear, in the case of partner violence
  • Disgust, related to sexual violence or exploitation
  • Pain, as a result of sexual violence or FGM

These videos already existed in 9 languages: English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Arabic, Fulani, Somali, Tigrinya and Amharic. Thanks to funding from the PCI fund of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, 3 new languages have now been added: Afar, Malinke, and Soussou!

Where to find them

The videos are available on the ACCESS website: https://www.we-access.eu/videos

They are also available on the GAMS Belgium Youtube page:

The ACCESS project

The project is carried out by GAMS Belgium, FORWARD UK (United Kingdom) and Médicos del Mundo (Spain), with the support of the European Union’s ECR programme, Equal.brussels, and the PCI programme of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
