Coronavirus: impact on GAMS’ activities

In view of the coronavirus situation (COVID-19) and the announcement by the Belgian Government of additional measures to contain the pandemic, GAMS Belgium must cancel or postpone its workshops, events and non-urgent appointments.

Workshops

All group workshops will be cancelled until the end of March:

  • The monthly meeting in Ans (Wallonia) on 26 March
  • The monthly meeting in Brussels and Namur on 27 March
  • The youth group
  • The men’s group

The Storytelling workshop in March will be postponed.

Psychological and social appointments

Initial reception, social and psychological conversations are possible provided that the rules of hygiene and “social distancing” are respected (keep an interpersonal distance of at least one metre and do not touch each other):

  • All non-urgent interviews will be cancelled and postponed to a later date.
  • For urgent interviews, the team will ask each person to wash his or her hands on arrival and departure. The staff will also apply this rule.

Videoconferencing for appointments and translations

GAMS team and volunteers will give preference to conversations and translations via different videoconferencing platforms. WhatsApp, Skype, ACCESS chat… There are solutions!
